Being Positive

I am trying so hard to be positive. Do you ever feel like the world is ganging up on you? Since Thanksgiving, my son has battled a sinus infection that he has been thru 3 courses of antibiotics for. We have been thru 2 rounds of the stomach flu. My toddler had an ear infection. My 10 year old had strep throat and now the toddler has some intestinal virus. Ugh! I hate feeling trapped in the house and having to back out of commitments left and right. I was feeling really sorry about myself earlier this week. Then I read stories in Blog World of children dying with childhood cancer, babies who die in utero right before their due dates, children born with heart problems in ICU for weeks and I tell myself, "WHAT are YOU whining about!" A sniffle, a bump in the road, something temporary.

I need to rely on my GOD to meet my needs, not my social calendar! Who cares that I've had to cancel playdates, volunteer opportunities, etc? My place is with my children offering them comfort and drawing my comfort from my Heavenly Father.

And staying positive doesn't hurt, either.

I know exactly what you mean.

Awhile ago when I was feeling particularly sorry for myself (and probably PMS'ing), I came upon "Bring the Rain"'s blog.

Yep, cried my eyes out over the death of this sweet baby, then got on my knees and thanked my Lord for the health of my three kids.

We all have bad days; it's just nice when God give you some perspective.

Wow, you are one busy bee! Hang in there, Momma! Maybe some magic fairy dust to make it better? :)

What a wonderful post! This is exactly how I was feeling a last week, but could get the words together and you summed it up perfectly.

Wow! I love how you put it. My girls also have been battling different illness since before Thanksgiving and it has been quite trying.

I love that there are other mom's out there with similar thoughts as I have.

I am new to the blogging world and loving it :) check me out sometime.
